US TSYS: Tsys Yields Stead Following Large Move Overnight

- Tsys yields are flat to 1bps higher this morning with the curve bear flattening. This follows large moves made on the back of slightly weaker than expected CPI overnight.
- The 10yr yield saw a 13bps move lower overnight, and is only given back +0.6bps this morning, to trade at 4.659%. While the 5yr is underperforming slightly, last +0.9% at 4.456%
- Canada has drafted a list of C$150b ($105b) in potential retaliatory tariffs on U.S. goods if President-elect Donald Trump imposes tariffs on Canadian exports. While Prime Minister Justin Trudeau urged unity and highlighted opportunities for U.S.-Canada partnerships, divisions among Canadian provinces, particularly Alberta, complicate a cohesive response. Alberta Premier Danielle Smith opposed energy export restrictions, while Ontario Premier Doug Ford advocated strong retaliation to protect Canadian interests.
