TTF front month is holding gains seen last week as gas transit via Ukraine looks set to halt at year end. Putin said Thursday it would be impossible to arrange a new transit contract before year’s end, when the current agreement expires.

  • Gas transit flows via Sudzha are at 42.3mcm/d today, according to Ukraine’s gas transmission operator.
  • Temperatures in NW Europe are forecast to dip below normal later this week although could recover back towards normal next week.
  • European gas storage was 73.55% full on Dec. 28, according to GIE, compared to the previous five year average of 77.7% with withdrawals rising further above normal.
  • NW European LNG sendout is down to 167mcm/d on Dec. 29 compared to an average of 183mcm/d over the previous week.
  • Norwegian pipeline supplies to Europe are 336.7mcm/d today, according to Bloomberg. Gassco still shows an unplanned capacity reduction of 5mcm/d at Kollsnes due to a compressor failure until Jan. 7.
  • Algeria gas flow to Italy at Mazara is 53.5mcm/d today, according to Bloomberg.
  • ICE TTF daily aggregate traded futures volume was 250k on Dec. 27.
