TURKEY: Head of Major Exporter Group Says Cheap Exchange Rate Hitting Economy

  • Competition is “impossible” if exchange rate policy doesn’t change, the head of the Turkish Exporters Assembly said as per Ekonomi. “As long as the exchange rate policy does not change, it is impossible to gain an advantage in competition. Innovative production cannot happen overnight,” he said.
  • The Turkish Energy Minister held talks in Istanbul with his Bulgarian counterpart on gas and power trade, according to a post on X. “We evaluated the development of interconnection lines that support Europe’s energy supply security.”
  • The Treasury & Finance Ministry will publish cash budget balance data for July at 15:30BST/17:30 local time. Looking ahead, industrial production figures for June will cross Friday morning.
