  • Turkey Introduces new two-week partial lockdown during Ramadan as cases reach 59,000 new daily infections & 270 deaths.
    • New measures go into effect today: curfew brought earlier to 19:00 from 21:00 and last until 05:00, cafes & restaurants only to provide in-house delivery, wedding halls and sports events to close.
    • HealthMin says 19.6m jabs have been administered, however, most have used the largely ineffective Sinopharm & SinoVac vaccines
  • Greek FM Denidas to visit Turkey on Thursday to discuss bilateral ties along with other regional issues
  • European Human Rights Court (ECGR) rejects HDP head Selahattin Demirtas' appeal to allow him to socialise with 8 other inmates, pointing to flaws in the application.
    • This is somewhat strange, given in Dec-20 the ECHR ruled Turkey must release him given the arbitrary nature of his imprisonment. Turkey rejected the ECHR's decision
