TURKEY: Labor Minister Says No Mid-Year Minimum Wage Raise

  • Turkish Labor Minister Isikhan said there won’t be an interim minimum-wage raise in July, Haberturk news website reports. “We’ll meet for the new minimum wage in December,” he is quoted as saying.
  • That decision is in-line with expectations. In their forecasts for policy and inflation, most sell-side analysts have been operating under the assumption that there would be no minimum wage increase in H2.
