TurkGBs Catch A Bid, Risk Reversals Reflect TRY Scepticism

  • Local & USD rates kick off a fraction softer this, having both gained bullish traction in yesterday's session.
  • TurkGBs rallied across the curve falling -22-29bp, with gains concentrated in 5-7Y yields. Similarly, USD bond yields fell -4.2-6bp across the breadth with 5 & 7Y tenors outperforming on the day.
  • 10Y TurkGB has now pulled back below 19.00, with 18.50 the next major support. Turkey's 5Y CDS drifted lower in yesterday's session with price action approaching 440 support.
  • 1m risk reversals have declined slightly but still reman elevated and have notched up slightly this morning – indicative of broad scepticism in recent TRY strength.
