TurkGBs Remain on Firmer Footing, 5Y CDS Tests 400 Support

  • Local rates kick off slightly firmer this morning, having ended Friday's session broadly on the front foot.
  • The TurkGB curve closed -12-15bp bull flatter in 7-10Y yields on Friday to maintain the w/w flattening bias.
  • Overall, 7-10Y tenors fell -32-35bp on week. Meanwhile, USD bonds also gained on Friday's session but with a bull steepening bias which was maintained throughout the week.
  • Turkey's 5Y CDS continued to fall w/w, dipping -46.5bp to retest the 400 handle.
  • Meanwhile, 1m USD/TRY Risk reversals remained flat on week, diverging the trend of falling RRs seen in both Russia & SA.
