Tyra Peak Production Delayed to Q4 Amid Technical issues

NATGAS

Denmark's Tyra natural gas field requires repairs to a power transformer delivering power to the intermediate pressure gas compressor, according to operator TotalEnergies.

  • The field will only reach peak production in Q4 instead of mid-year due to the technical issues. In March, the company expected the field to reach the technical capacity of 8.1mcm/d in four months.
  • The commissioning of the facilities and gas exports from Tyra continue at present levels while the repair work is ongoing.
  • Gas volumes may be redirected to Den Helder, the Netherlands, during remediation while different options to deliver additional gas volumes to Denmark are being explored.
  • BlueNord, a partner in the development, expects the restart of gas export from Tyra II in July and for an increase through Q3.
  • The Tyra field restart would make Denmark self-sufficient and a net exporter of natural gas.
