U.S. Gasoline Demand ~9mn bpd: OPIS

OPIS modelled U.S. gasoline demand last week at around 9mn bpd according to its survey of volumes actually pumped.

  • It is a huge decline versus 2019 when the EIA measured demand at 9.928mn bpd.
  • OPIS analysts Tom Kloza said there was “still no real evidence of driving season” based on the latest figures.
  • U.S. retail gasoline demand fell 1.5% for the week ending June 15 and modelled at 8.790mb/d, according to GasBuddy.
