GILT SUMMARY: UK Prime Minister Theresa May's attempt to shore up support for
her widely disparaged withdrawal agreement is proving to be an uphill battle.
May is heading out to Belfast to drum up support in Northern Ireland, but DUP
leader Arlene Foster steadfastly opposes the plan.
- The sell off in gilts stabilised by mid-morning. The 2-year gilt trades at a
yield of 0.760% up from a morning low of 0.727% while the 10-year yield trades
at 1.389% up from 1.364%.
- The curve has been broadly flat with 2s10s trading at 61.9bps.
- The Dec gilt future trades at 122.98 off a morning high of 123.223
- Inflation breakevens have inched higher with the 5-year benchmark trading up
to 3.076% from a 3.063%
- Short sterling futures are broadly 1.0-2.0 ticks higher.
- Cable is under pressure, trading down to 1.2745.
