Ukraine Will Not Negotiate Grain Deal With Russia, Qin Praises China-Russia Relations

RUSSIA
  • Russia will have 30m tons of grains from the current agricultural year to be sold in the next season thanks to the record crop and slow exports at the start of the season, Agriculture Minister Dmitry Partushev said in interview to Kommersant. Saying the grain deal between Russia, UN and Ukraine is not beneficial to Russia, Patrushev declined to comment on the deal’s prospects. Ukraine has said it has begun bilateral online discussions with partners on extending the deal, but not with Russia, Reuters report citing an unnamed Ukrainian government official.
  • The China-Russia relationship is not a threat to any country, nor is it subject to any interference or discord sown by any third party, Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang said Tuesday as cited by Xinhua. With China and Russia working together, the world will have the driving force toward multipolarity and greater democracy in international relations, and global strategic balance and stability will be better ensured, Qin added.
  • Putin may meet Evgeny Balitsky, the head of local occupation authorities in Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region, to discuss the status of paramilitary units and private military companies, according to Tass. There are no major economic releases scheduled today.
