US Diesel Exports to Brazil Nearly Doubled in September

US diesel exports to Brazil nearly doubled from August to September up to a four-month high of 79kbpd according to Bloomberg citing Kpler data.

  • Brazil could be more reliant on US supply this winter with a reduction in shipments from Russia in October after the ban on Russian fuel exports.
  • US suppliers have reclaimed some of the market previously lost to cheap Russian diesel with Russia’s diesel exports falling even before the ban started.
  • The increase in flows from US to Brazil was despite an overall drop in diesel exports due to maintenance while there was an unusual shipment out of the typical importing region of New York Harbor.
