US DOE to Buy 2.73mbbls of Sour Crude for SPR in January

The US energy department plans to buy 2.73mbbls of sour crude for the Strategic Petroleum Reserve in January 2024.

  • The crude will be sold by ExxonMobil Oil Company 0.93mb, Phillips 66 Company 0.6mb, Sunoco Partners Marketing & Terminals LP 0.6mb, Macquarie Commodities Trading US LLC 0.6mb.
  • The US DOE is looking to buy crude to continue to refill the SPR at $79/bbl or below out to at least May 2024.
