US Gasoline Crack Edges Higher From Three Month Low Last Week

OIL PRODUCTS

US gasoline imports from Europe in the week ending 15 Dec rose from the previous week according to bills of lading and ship-tracking data from Bloomberg.

  • European gasoline arrivals in the US jumped week on week to 347kbpd compared with 199kbpd in the previous week.
  • Total motor gasoline stocks in the US have built recently up to just 2.2% below the five year average but stocks in PADD1 are still over 13% below normal.
  • Gasoline cracks are slowly edging higher after reaching the lowest since early September on 12 Dec. Both EIA and GasBuddy were showing a gradual drop in gasoline demand with levels below normal although falling in line with seasonal expectations. However GasBuddy data yesterday showed an increase in demand last week which has helped to support the crack spread.
    • US 321 crack down -0.3$/bbl at 28.35$/bbl
    • US gasoline crack up 1$/bbl at 16.27$/bbl
    • US ULSD crack down -0.3$/bbl at 53.49$/bbl
    • EU Gasoline-Brent down -0.2$/bbl at 1.65$/bbl
    • EU Gasoil-Brent down -0.2$/bbl at 35.8$/bbl
