US Gasoline pump prices up in August: GasBuddy

The nationwide average for US gasoline prices rose on the month in August, according to data from GasBuddy.

  • Pump prices averaged $3.818/g in August, compared to $3.565/g in July.
  • This is the highest monthly average since October, when pump prices averaged $3.836/g.
  • However, prices are down 3.02% from levels seen in August 2022.
  • Implied gasoline demand on a four-week basis edged higher for the first time in three weeks but remains lackluster on a seasonal basis, according to BNEF.
  • The current nationwide average price on Sep. 1 was $3.777/gal.
