US Natgas End-of-Season Storage to Hit Four-Year High in Oct: Reuters

US natural gas storage is on track to end the summer injection period at a four-year high of 3.913 tcf on Oct. 31, analysts told Reuters.

  • This is a slight downward revision from previous estimate of 3.919 bcf made in late June.
  • This compares to 3.809 tcf over the same period in 2023 and 3.929 tcf in 2020.
  • The current record high for the summer injection period is 4.013 tcf in 2016, while the five-year average is 3.747 tcf.
  • The summer season runs from April 1-October 31.
  • Looking towards the winter withdrawal season from November-March, analysts expect storage to be 1.700 tcf by March 31, a three-year low, but an upward revision from the previous 1.682 tcf estimate, Reuters said.
