US Natgas Storage Likely Rose by 70 Bcf: WSJ Survey

US natural gas inventories likely posted below average growth in the week to June 14, according to a survey of nine analysts, brokers, and traders by the WSJ.

  • Gas in underground storage is expected to have risen by 70 bcf to 3,044 bcf in the week to June 14.
  • Estimates ranged from a net build of 64 bcf to 82 bcf.
  • This would be below the five-year average net increase of 83 bcf for this period and would be the sixth consecutive below-average injection.
  • It would also reduce the surplus over the five-year average from 573 Bcf the week prior.
  • The EIA will report the official figures at 10:30 ET June 21.
