US: US Senate is seeing action going on toward the budget: Washington Post cited

Senate GOP saying they have enough votes to pass their budget today, which they

must do if they are to be able to pass their large scale tax cuts without

Democratic support. Post also said however the Democrats are trying to put

amendments onto the budget that "are aimed at forcing Republican members into

uncomfortable votes." The amendment votes began at 3pm and may run until late

Thursday night, it said, then Senate "will be ready to vote on a budget," said

Wash. Post. 

- The GOP leaders were tested earlier today on the vote to begin budget debate,

and passed it 50-47, with 3 senators absent and all Republicans present voting

"yes," said the Post.
