US Treasury Extends License To Oil Firms In Venezuela

The US Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control extended a license allowing some oil companies to conduct basic operations in Venezuela through 19 2023, according to a statement on the website.

  • The following companies are authorised to conduct limited maintenance of essential of essential operations involving Venezuela’s PDVSA: Halliburton, Schlumberger Limited, Baker Hughes Holdings LLC, and Weatherford International.
  • The previous license was set to expire on 26 May.
  • In November, the Treasury gave Chevron a separate license to expand operations in the country and to export crude to the US.
