US TSYS: US Treasury futures have come off their session highs with the 10-year
trading in the middle of its 119-28 - 120-04+ range, largely decoupling from
movements in global equity markets.
- The 2s-10s curve pushed slightly higher, currently trading at 34.7bps amid
mild steepening across the curve. The trend remains for continued flattening
though.
- The Conference Board's consumer confidence data will be released today with
the spread of expectations and current conditions likely to impact the yield
curve. The 2s-10s spread has shown a very tight correlation with the current
confidence-expectations spread, which has reached its lowest spread since 2001,
indicating that the current solid economic growth picture is not expected to
continue.
- T-Notes last at 119-31. US Tsy ylds: 2Y 2.529%, 3Y 2.625%, 5Y 2.750%, 7Y
2.840%, 10Y 2.880%, 30Y 3.029%.
