BOND SUMMARY
BOND SUMMARY: - US TSY yields have pushed higher with the 2-year benchmark
trading at 2.828% up from 2.809% and the 10-year at 3.061% from 3.039%.
- JGB yields have inched lower, albeit within a very tight range. Current
yields: 2-year -0.152%, 10-year 0.077%, 30-year 0.803%.
- German bunds sold off from the open, but have since recovered some of the
losses with yields trading in the middle of the day's ranges. The curve has
steepened with the 2s10s spread trading up to 93.1bps from a low of 91.97bps.
- Italian BTPs rallied hard from the open on the back of reports that the
government is considering a revision to its contentious budget. The 2-year
benchmark yield collapsed to 0.616% from 0.927% at Friday's close, before
pulling back to 0.776%.
- Despite the UK appearing to inch closer to a Brexit settlement (with PM
Theresa May challenging opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn to a live TV debate),
there has been limited movement in gilts.
- Euro$ futures are off 1.0-2.0 ticks across the strip. Euribor futures are
broadly flat to 0.5 ticks lower.
