USD Bonds Underperform with Bear Flattening Momentum Holding, 5Y CDS Eyes 550

  • Local & USD rates remain unch this morning, having closed Friday’s session broadly weaker.
  • USD bonds continued to underperform across the curve, sustaining bear flattening momentum with 2-3Y yields rising +30.9 & +16.1bp respectively. Meanwhile 5-15Y USD yields rose +5-11.4bp.
  • TurkGBs also trade weaker on Friday, rising +6-9bp in 2-3Y yields with the curve ending +35-40bp higher in 2-10Y yields with 3-5Y tenors most offered.
  • 10Y yields are trading marginally below the May 2019 highs, with a move above 20.27 opening up the Aug 2018 highs at 21.20 to the topside.
  • Tukey’s 5Y CDS Continues to tick higher, approaching 550 with the next major support at 575 (coincides with 2018 highs & 2020 levels).
