DOLLAR-CANADA
DOLLAR-CANADA: USD/CAD climbed 39 pips yesterday, as tumbling crude prices took
their toll on oil-tied FX, with the loonie finishing as the worst G10 performer.
Flaring U.S.-China trade tensions inspired the largest daily slump in WTI since
the beginning of the year. However, after the rate had a brief look above
C$1.3500, it gave away a chunk of its earlier gains, as the greenback softened.
- The rate last deals at C$1.3478, a touch higher on the day. Above yesterday's
peak at $C1.3502 would bring the Apr 24 multi-month high at C$1.3521 into play.
A dip below the 21-DMA, which comes in at C$1.3450, would open up the
psychological C$1.3400 level.
- Canadian econ docket today is virtually empty.
