DOLLAR-CANADA
DOLLAR-CANADA: USD/CAD last C$1.3193, back from lows of C$1.3183. The rate has
slipped 15 pips or so in Asia-Pacific dealing on the back of the news from the
weekend's OPEC+ summit, which saw proposals to cut output being put to
discussion, while Saudi Arabia announced it will curb its crude exports by ~500k
barrels/day in December.
- Oil's uptick alleviated some pressure from CAD, allowing it to outperform all
of its G10 peers.
- This comes after the pair had advanced ~40 pips on Friday due to broader risk
off flows and the blocking of the Keystone XL pipeline project by U.S. federal
authorities.
- The nearby bearish focus falls on Friday's lows of C$1.3141 and a break below
would open up the Nov 8 low at C$1.3088. On the upside, a break above Friday's
highs of C$1.3233 would open up the 76.4% fibo at C$1.3244.
- The Canadian docket is very thin this week and includes m'fing sales on
Thursday.
