DOLLAR-CANADA: USD/CAD last deals at C$1.3395, a touch higher on the day, but
still short of the psychological C$1.3400 level. The pair was supported by
another slip in oil prices after yesterday's OPEC meeting concluded without a
press briefing, with members divided over potential output cuts. Today will mark
the final day of the cartel's summit, while a question mark hangs over the
degree of Russia's participation.
- Bulls continue to eye the C$1.34 figure before targeting yesterday's peak at
C$1.3445, while bears look to a break below yesterday's lows of C$1.3355 before
challenging the 38.2% fibo retracement of the move from C$1.3160 to C$1.3445 at
C$1.3336.
- Canadian labour market report will be released later today, while next week
Canadian focus turns to domestic housing starts & building permits due Monday,
as well as BoC Dep Gov Lane's remarks Monday.
