DOLLAR-CANADA
DOLLAR-CANADA: USD/CAD last trades flat at C$1.3060. In spite of operating
within a very narrow range, the pair managed to touch a fresh YtD low of
C$1.3056, where it had previously bottomed on Nov 7 2018.
- A fall below the C$1.3000 mark would expose the lower 1.0% 10-DMA envelope at
C$1.2993, while bulls remain focused on the 100-HMA at C$1.3101.
- The rate fell 50 pips yesterday, weighed on by a data-inspired USD weakness
combined with the impact of better oil prices & the fact that Canadian trade
balance topped forecasts on the back of soaring exports, with the headline print
showing a C$760bn surplus vs. the predicted C$1.70bn deficit.
- Looking ahead, Canadian labour market report will be published on Friday.
