DOLLAR-CANADA: USD/CAD last trades unchanged at C$1.3186, after advancing over
50 pips Monday, as WTI prices plummeted, dragging CAD lower.
- Oil struggled on the back of a tweet from U.S. President Trump, which
suggested that current crude prices are too high, and asked OPEC to "relax and
take it easy." Earlier in the day, official data revealed that Russia fell short
of its OPEC+ output cut pledges in February.
- The topside focus falls on the 21-DMA at C$1.3109. A breach of that level
would bring the 200-HMA at C$1.3218 into view. Meanwhile, bears need a fall
through the 100-HMA at C$1.3179, situated above the 200-DMA at C$1.3160.
- Canadian CPI comes out on Wednesday, c/a balance is due Thursday, while Dec/Q4
GDP will hit on Friday.
