DOLLAR-CANADA
DOLLAR-CANADA: USD/CAD now sits unchanged at ~C$1.3106, after a brief look below
the figure in early dealing.
- On Friday CAD had been the poorest performer in G10, as the pair moved above
the earlier Oct highs to touch the best levels since early Sep at C$1.3159,
before a sharp fall late in the day as U.S. equity indices recovered from worst
levels & crude prices jumped.
- Bulls seek a close above the 61.8% retracement from June highs to Oct lows at
C$1.3156, which would give a green light to challenging the Sep 11 high at
C$1.3175. Bears need to break the C$1.3013 50-DMA before targeting Wednesday's
low at C$1.2970.
- Highlights this week include the releases of Canadian GDP on Wednesday &
labour mkt data on Friday.
