DOLLAR-YEN: USD/JPY has added around 15 pips thus far, last trading a few pips
shy of session highs at Y109.46, aided by a slight uptick in Japanese equities.
- The weekend saw focus fall on U.S. President Trump's visit to Tokyo. Trump
tweeted the following on Sunday, "Great progress being made in our Trade
Negotiations with Japan. Agriculture and beef heavily in play. Much will wait
until after their July elections where I anticipate big numbers!"
- Immediate resistance noted at Y109.56/65 which represent the 50% retracement
of the move from Y104.56 to Y114.55 & the 61.8% retracement of the move from
Y109.02 to Y110.67. Initial support is noted at Y109.27, which represents the
38.2% retracement of the move from Y125.86 to Y99.02, and also coincides with
Friday's intraday low
- BoJ Rinban operations provide the highlight today.
