USD Loses Further Ground

The USD is losing further ground. The BBDXY back to 1227 (-0.15%). Cross-asset wise things look fairly muted, with US equity futures close to flat and Treasury futures trading in a tight range. A reminder Japan markets are out today (as is China), so lighter liquidity could be impacting the moves. The moves look to be an extension of late NY trade.

  • JPY is one of the standouts though USD/JPY is back to 136.00, comfortably below Tuesday session lows, last at 136.00/05. The lows was at 135.92.
  • NZD/USD is the best performer, now near 0.6245, +0.60% for the session and playing some catch up with higher onshore yields post the Q1 jobs data.
  • AUD/USD is being dragged higher, last near 0.6675, still underperforming NZD though. The AUD/NZD cross is back sub 1.0700.
  • EUR/USD is around 0.20% higher, last in the 1.1020/25 region.
