DOLLAR-MYR
DOLLAR-MYR: USD/MYR has been offered in early Asia-Pac trade, playing catch-up
to yesterday's USD sales inspired by firmer risk appetite and signs of worry in
the Fed's MonPol rhetoric. The rate last sits -105 pips at MYR4.3352.
- Bears keep an eye on the 50-DMA at MYR4.3129 and a fall below there would open
up a key near-term support at MYR4.2980, the low of Apr 14. Bulls look for a
rebound above Apr 28 high of MYR4.3733, which would open up Apr 22 high of
MYR4.4032.
- Malaysia declared 94 new coronavirus cases yesterday, the biggest daily
increased since Apr 16. Most of these cases were detected among people who have
recently returned from Indonesia.
- Malaysia's calendar is empty during the remainder of this week, but worth
flagging in advance that the BNM will announce its MonPol decision next Tuesday.
