Vaccine Pass Could Extend To Non-EMA Approved Jabs-BBG

Bloomberg reporting that the EU's proposed vaccine pass, which would allow those who have been vaccinated against COVID-19, could accept vaccines not necessarily approved by the EMA, but also those only approved by national regulators. This would open the possibility of the EU accepting the Russian Sputnik V or the Chinese Sinovac vaccines as effective enough to allow for travel between EU member states.

  • So far the EU institutions have warned against individual nations approving and rolling out vaccines without EMA approval. but it has fallen on deaf ears with a number of member states approving vaccines from Russia and China for general distribution.
