AUSSIE

AUD/USD has shed a handful of pips at the start to the week, with markets
somewhat unnerved with Sino-U.S. diplomatic tensions & divisions among
U.S. lawmakers re: fiscal matters. Local Covid-19 situation adds pressure
to AUD, after Victoria declared a record increase in Covid-19 fatalities.

  • Victoria Premier Andrews said that retired medical personnel would return to
work, while military officials will train with ambulance staff.
  • As the spread of new infections across Australia remains closely watched,
the Supreme Court of New South Wales prohibited a planned Black Lives
Matter rally, scheduled for Jul 28.
  • AUD/USD last trades -12 pips at $0.7093. Bears look for a break under
Jun 10 high of $0.7063, before targeting Jul 21 low of $0.7010. Bulls
need a rebound above Jul 22 high of $0.7182 before taking aim at
    Apr 18, 2019 high of $0.7199.
  • Looking ahead, Australian CPI hits on Weds, building approvals are due Thurs,
