Vietnam Seeking Spot LNG Cargoes from April: Platts

Vietnam’s PVGas issued a tender Feb. 26, seeking 1-2 spot LNG cargoes delivered to the Thi Vai LNG terminal, according to Platts.

  • This is PVGas’ first spot LNG tender since the official inauguration of Vietnam’s first LNG terminal Oct. 29.
  • The delivery window is April 1-20 for the first cargo, while the second cargo’s delivery window is unconfirmed but expected around July-August.
  • The Thi Vai LNG terminal received the commissioning cargo from Shell July 10, following a tender issued April 2023.
  • The terminal has a capacity of 1m mtpa, with plans to expand to 3m mtpa in 2026-30.
  • A second project in the country - the 3.4m mtpa Hai Linh LNG terminal - was scheduled for completion in 2023 but has been delayed due to tank issues.
