Weekly Net Buys Reverse By Most In 2022 Amid Large Redemptions

ECB weekly net asset purchases reversed by the most in 2022, falling by E6.6bln - of course following the conclusion of APP net asset purchases on July 1 (reinvestments continue).

  • Net PEPP purchases fell for the 5th week in 6 (-E1.4bln), with PSPP holdings falling by the most since the week of April 1 (-E5.1bln). CSPP holdings fell (-E0.4bln) for the first time in 2022.
  • Of note though were large redemptions: E10.7bln for PSPP and E6.8bln for PEPP.
  • Covered Bond holdings rose slightly (+E0.3bln), while ABS holdings were flat.
