  • There has been notable optimism that the J&J vaccine would only require one dose to give its highest level of immunity, in contrasts to other vaccines from Moderna, Pfizer, and AstraZeneca that require two doses spread out across several weeks. A one-dose vaccine would markedly speed up a country's progress towards national immunity.
  • The increasing number of more virulent strains of the virus is the major issue facing vaccine producers, with the use of boosters at future dates an increasing possiblilty.
