ENERGY – What to Watch: Rig Counts and COT
- The latest Baker Hughes rig count data is due for release at 13:00ET. The US oil rig count has resumed the decline in recent weeks down to 497 while the gas rig count edging slightly higher to 118 last week.
- The ICE and Nymex commitments of traders reports are due for release after the close today at 18:30BST and 15:30EST. Crude managed money net long positions last week fell back from the highest since March 2022 while ICE Gasoil net long positions edged down again to the least bullish since 18 July but Nymex diesel positions were the most bullish since Oct 2021.
