Wheatstone Restart Activities Ongoing as LNG Vessel Nears

Australia’s Wheatstone gas facility restart activities are ongoing, according to a Chevron Australia spokesperson on Friday cited by Reuters.

  • Bloomberg reports the Kool Baltic LNG vessel appears on course to arrive at the LNG facility on Friday suggesting a resumption of production soon.
  • The facility aims to begin ramping supply to the natural gas domestic market on June 22, according to an AEMO notice.
  • The Wheatstone gas facility suspended activities on June 10 to complete repairs of its offshore platform’s fuel system. The company has deferred delivery of some LNG cargoes for customers due to the outage.
