OIL: WTI & Brent shed around $0.15 to deal at $66.85 & $77.40 respectively, with
the oil benchmarks on track to record weekly losses.
- This week's DoE inventory data revealed record US oil production, while the
OPEC+ nations continue to discuss upping their production.
- Traders await the weekly Baker Hughes rig count due later today.
- Volatile WTI trading continues with offers ahead of Wednesdays high seen
capping and pressure remaining on the $64.68-65.80 support region where the
100-DMA is noted. Bears need a close below $65.80 to pressure the 100-DMA and
below $68.37 to shift initial focus to $61.73. Bulls now need a close above
$68.67 to gain breathing room and initially pressure the $70.06-71.09 region
where 21-DMA is noted.
