WTI July Option Expiry – Wed 14th June 23 at 14:30 ET close

  • A total of 596kbbls of open July 23 options positions on CME and ICE are due to expire against the July future close tomorrow. Current aggregate open interest is 346k calls and 251k puts.
  • The open interest across all WTI options on both exchanges is currently 1.75m calls and 1.12m puts.
  • The recent decline in futures has pushed the market through most of the open call positions but a significant volume of about 12k of calls and 19k of put sits above the current market at the 70$/bbl strike with another 17k of puts just below the current price at 65$/bbl.
