Yen, AUD Trim Friday's Losses

Yen and AUD have trimmed some of Friday's underperformance in early dealing on Monday, elsewhere in the G-10 space ranges remain narrow with little follow through.

  • USD/JPY is down ~0.3%, and last prints at ¥140.75/85. Japanese Retail Sales were firmer than forecast in June, however Industrial Production printed at 2.0% M/M vs 2.4% exp.
  • AUD/USD prints at $0.6665/70, the pair is ~0.3% firmer thus far. Resistance comes in at Fridays high ($0.6714) and the 20-Day EMA ($0.6746).
  • Kiwi is little changed from opening levels and is dealing in a narrow range.
  • Cross asset wise; e-minis are a touch firmer and BBDXY is down ~0.1%. US Tsy Yields are a touch firmer across the curve.
  • Official PMI data from China headlines the Asian session today, Mfg PMI is expected at 49.0 and Non-Mfg PMI is forecast to print at 53.0.
