GERMAN DATA: ZEW Survey (Oct 2019) Preview - 10:00BST 15/10/2019
---------------------------------------------------------------
- CURRENT SITUATION (CS) expected to touch lowest since April 2010
- Bloomberg Consensus: -23.6; Prev (Sep): -19.9
- The CS index registered the fourth consecutive decline in Sep when the
indicator fell to -19.9.
- ECONOMIC SENTIMENT (ES) is forecast to fall again
- Bloomberg Consensus: -26.4; Prev(Sep): -22.5
- The ES index rebound to -22.5 in Sep following Aug's slump to -44.1 which was
a 93-month low, however it remains far below the 10-year average (12.0)
- The more timely Sentix index confirms the subdued forecasts with the headline
index plummeting to the lowest level since July 2009.
- Survey's continue to outline a muted outlook as companies remain cautious amid
the challenging economic and political environment.
- Although last week's developments in the US-China trade dispute provided a ray
of hope, a definite solution seems unlikely in the near term.
