France To Send Heavy Weaponry To UKR, But Mentions Risks Of Escalation

In a joint interview with Ouest-France, Funke and Corriere della Sera, French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed that France is sending shipments of Milan anti-tanks missiles and Caesar self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine.

  • These weapons are high-profile and high-tech pieces of military equipment that will be viewed as a significant contribution to the Ukrainian war effort.
  • Macron mentioned the risks of 'vertical escalation' and 'horizontal escalation' in Ukraine, "Vertical escalation is the change in the nature of warfare and the use of unconventional weapons, established chemical or ballistic nuclear weapons. And horizontal escalation is the co-belligerence of allied countries or other powers .[NATO countries being draw in to the conflict]".
