Econ Min-Russian Oil @ 12% Of Supply, Hope Complete Cut In Coming Days

Wires carrying comments from German Economy Minister and Vice-Chancellor Robert Habeck. States that Russian oil is down to 12% of Germany's total oil consumption.

  • Adds that he is hoping a full cut-off from Russian supplies will be achieved in the coming days.
  • There remains significant speculation as to the nature of future EU sanctions on Russian oil. Permanent representatives from the member states had been hoping to discuss a new draft package of sanctions - potentially including oil - at a meeting on Wednesday. However, the Commission has yet to submit a draft and therefore any decision will be pushed back further.
