UK CBI INDUSTRY TRENDS: JUNE TOTAL ORDER +18 VS +26 MAY

UK CBI JUNE AVG PRICES NEXT 3 MONTHS: +58 VS +75 MAY

  • The June CBI industrial trends survey highlighted easing price pressure expectations, with the three-month expected outlook falling to the lowest seen in nine months. Price expectations were 17 points below both the May reading and this month's expected outcome.
  • Growth outlooks weakened, as output and order books slowed. Food, drinks and tobacco output contracted, however, order books remain above long-run averages.
  • An improvement was seen in stock levels, which re-entered adequate territory following inadequacy seen for most of last year, a sign of supply chain disruptions and shortages seeing significant easing.
  • As such, this month's survey hints at a possible turning point in continued issues surrounding inflation and supply chains. The July survey will be a further step in accessing continued improvements.
