Net Weekly Buys At 5-Week High

ECB

Despite net reductions in PEPP (-E2.8bln) and ABS (-0.4bln) holdings in the week to Jun 24, overall ECB net asset purchases rose by a 5-week high E4.5bln. This was driven by a E6.1bln increase in the size of PSPP holdings (also the most in 5 weeks, and up from E0.9bln the previous week).

  • PEPP purchases saw a net E6.3bln in redemptions in the week, more than offsetting E3.5bln in gross purchases. PSPP redemptions were relatively negligible.
  • Covered bonds picked up slightly (E0.2bln), while CSPP holdings rose to E1.5bln from E1.0bln prior.
