EGBS: A limited overnight session for German FI; Schatz -0.5, Bobls -1, Bunds
-2.
- Monday was a relatively muted session for German FI, with the U.S. Labour Day
holiday limiting liquidity. Bunds finished well off session lows owing to an
uptick in Brexit uncertainty and questions over the chances of a Sino-U.S. trade
meeting in September.
- The 10-Year Italian-German spread narrowed to close at ~167bp, 2bp off session
lows.
- Regional data is limited today, with EZ PPI providing the major point of
interest. There will be more focus placed on the Italian political situation
than the regional docket with M5S party members set to vote on the question of
"Do you agree that the M5S should form a government together with the PD,
chaired by Giuseppe Conte?" The latest LA7/SWG poll showed that 69% of PD voters
are in favour of forming a new gov't with M5S, compared with 51% of M5S voters
supporting such a move.
- Austrian supply headlines the regional issuance schedule.
