A Little Weaker Ahead Of Powell

Equities are consolidating following Wednesday's strength, and ahead of Fed Chair Powell's appearance at Jackson Hole just before the US opening bell.

  • Asian stocks closed mixed, with Japan's NIKKEI down 82 pts or -0.35% at 23208.86 and the TOPIX down 8.59 pts or -0.53% at 1615.89. China's SHANGHAI closed up 20.374 pts or +0.61% at 3350.113 and the HANG SENG ended 210.64 pts lower or -0.83% at 25281.15
  • European stocks are weaker, with the German Dax down 40.13 pts or -0.3% at 13149.4, FTSE 100 down 22.5 pts or -0.37% at 6022.88, CAC 40 down 24.64 pts or -0.49% at 5023.83 and Euro Stoxx 50 down 19.64 pts or -0.59% at 3337.22.
  • U.S. futures have retraced a bit, with the Dow Jones mini down 88 pts or -0.31% at 28225, S&P 500 mini down 8.5 pts or -0.24% at 3471.75, NASDAQ mini down 33.75 pts or -0.28% at 11957.
