DOLLAR
DOLLAR: A quiet session overnight has seen the USD hold modest gains against
most of G10 (except SEK) at the European crossover. The DXY extends its recovery
off Friday's weekly low (93.81) to settle around 94.25/30. Bulls initially need
to reclaim the 100-dma at 94.60, a break of the 50% retracement level
(95.73-93.81) at 94.77 changes the short-term outlook. Gold failed to build on
gains above $1200 last week and holds toward the lower end of its
$1195.21-1199.39 range. Support is seen from the Aug lows at $1187.78.
Option-expiries of note today; EURUSD $1.1685/90 (E1.22bn), USDJPY Y112.00/10
($1.12bn).
