ASIA: A slower pace to the regional docket today.
- The latest round of monthly Chinese trade data will provide the headlines.
- The BSP is expected to add to the monetary easing seen in the region this
week, with consensus looking for the central bank to cut rates by 25bp.
- Elsewhere, there will be some focus on the Japan/South Korea situation after
the Nikkei suggested that "the Japanese government is set to greenlight some
exports of semiconductor manufacturing materials to South Korea, the first such
approvals since Tokyo tightened export controls on the products in July."
Meanwhile Yomiuri, suggested that the Japanese gov't is set to greenlight some
exports of semiconductor m'fing materials to South Korea, this would represent
the first such round of approvals since Tokyo tightened export controls to South
Korea.
